Hell Yeah! Most Def for President yall. I would vote for him in a heartbeat, cause at least he could keep things interesting and deliver a presidential freestyle from time to time. Can you imagine if all kids got free breakfast… I also call a band badonkadonk.

Paul Mawhinney was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. Over the years he has amassed what has become the world’s largest record collection. Due to health issues and a struggling record industry Paul is being forced to sell his collection. This is the story of a man and his records. When he is listening to his song at the end, I almost lost it. If I had the money, I would own this collection. Lets hope some DJ with money can eventually help him out. props to veryapeproductions.com for the great effort.

Jerry “The Snowman” Reed Dies @ 71.

Internet Awesomeness No Comments »

Its a sad day for me. Jerry Reed Dies @ 71 and is eternally now EAST BOUND AND DOWN with Fred at his side. In the mid-1970s, he began acting in movies such as “Smokey and the Bandit” as the SNOWMAN with Burt Reynolds, usually as a good ol’ boy. But he was an ornery heavy in “Gator,” directed by Reynolds, and a hateful coach in 1998’s “The Waterboy,” starring Adam Sandler. There’s no more need to keep an eye out for Kojacks with a a Kodak Jerry, you and Fred give Beuford T Justice Hell in heaven. You will be missed snowman. Forever East Bound and Down.

Why America is…The Draplin Project.

As I’m watching this, I can’t help but feel like I’m watching myself talk about design. It’s kinda freaky. Karen Knievel said the same thing “this guy reminds me of Levi for some reason…laid back…f bomb dropped in every couple of seconds” haha. But to the point, I want to give Draplin some props for, well, not giving a fuck and saying what he really felt. He said “DEAR MOM AND DAD: I know you raised me well, and taught me how to speak and behave like an appropriate adult and all that, but, Jess asked the question and I got all fired up and then started swearing like a sailor. These things happen. Don’t excommunicate me.” Although I’ve never drunk EBAY’d, It’s not that far fetched that I would buy a huge sign. Hell I would probably do it sober just to say I did. But I do love old signs too. Anyway, check out the video, It’s really good! And check out some of his work as well, the logos are stellar and that orange hat is dope!

Crunk Bus Table For Mellow Mushroom

Step by Stencils No Comments »

About 2 months aga, Tim Lenior from Kilroy approached me and a handfull of designers from around the area to do some custom dining tables for a local hippie pizza joint’s outdoor patio grand opening. The Project had some highs and low’s along the way but after tons of hard work from everyone on the wall mural and some awesome tables, everything turned out awesome. I haven’t actually got to see them all yet because by the time we got there, people were already on them and prior to midnight it turned into CLUB MUSHROOM, but the owners were happy. Most people did more than one table as well which Ill have more photos of later. So peep the process as this is one of the biggest 3 color stencils I’ve Ever cut! More to come - Enjoy!

Check out the My Flickr Set to see more pics of my stencil process.

Jurassic 5 in Mascots Costumes…Awesome.

DJ Format - “We Know Something You Don’t Know” from Ruben Fleischer on Vimeo.

The Jurassic 5 have go to be one of the most under-rated Hip Hop groups of all time. Charlie2na as your friendly neighborhood baritone is definitely my favorite rapper. This Video takes me back to my High-school days when I was the mascot of my high-school, and I did a significant amount of break-dancing in my costume too. If your ever out and about and you see a massive group of about 50 mascots recreating the break dance fight from the Michael Jackson Bad Video, rest assured me and Dennis were up to it! If you get a chance to see J5, charge it, they are awesome!

FREE BEER poster Collaboration

Free Beer Poster

So a couple a weeks ago, Mike Barnhardt (Illustration Mastermind) walked by my desk and handed me a pencil sketch on some transparency of this beer label. Iwas blown away and Mike said he was never going to do anything with because ten years had past and he hadn’t yet, so he told me to have my way with it and heres what I did. Working on projects like this with no timeline and having the outline are awesome because it lets you concentrate on the color scheme, details and elaborations in much more detail. I didn’t have to change very much aside from the Eagle and just adding little icons here and there, but It came out awesome if I do say myself! Thanks MB for the Opportunity.
